Embark on a thrilling journey into the world of infectious diseases with our first-ever IDWeek Escape Room! Race against time, solving cryptic puzzles to escape. This exciting experience will test your problem-solving skills and ID knowledge in a blend of mystery, science, and teamwork. Step into this infectious world of fun and discovery, it’s a pulse-pounding adventure you won’t want to miss! 

Out-BREAK!: an ID escape room will be held between 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Oct. 12-14, with multiple time slots available each day in the IDWeek Exhibit Hall, booth 977-979.

When is it and what time slots are available?

  • Thursday, Oct. 12 – Friday, Oct. 13, and slot times are 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 14 new slot times are 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Do I need to sign up as a team?

  • Each time slot can accommodate up to 6 participants; teams are encouraged but not necessary.

How do I sign up?

  • Signups will occur:  
    • Wednesday, Oct. 11, 1-5 p.m. at the IDWeek Information booth found in the BugHub (BCEC North Lobby).
    • Thursday, Oct. 12 – Sat, Oct. 14, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Escape Room in the exhibit hall. The Escape Room can be found in booth #977-979.
  • Signups for Escape Room time slots will be taken the previous day (i.e. Friday signups will be taken on Thursday).

How do I find the Escape Room and when should I arrive?

  • The Escape Room is booth #977-979.
  • To enter the exhibit hall between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. use the escalators from the BugHub (North Lobby) or the Poster Hall Entrance.
  • To enter the exhibit hall before 10 a.m. and after 2 p.m. use the poster hall entrance (B1 East Side Level Zero Entrance) or the exhibit hall entrance just past room 105 (B1 Level 1 West Side Entrance).
  • Please show up about 10-minutes prior to your assigned slot to get your pre-Escape Room experience briefing.
