Attendee Guide

Welcome to Atlanta!

Atlanta is a city that not only blends rich history, world-class dining, and vibrant neighborhoods, it is also known as the Public Health Capital of the World. We are thrilled to host IDWeek 2025 here, in the home of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). To kick things off, hear a special message from the Honorable Mayor of Atlanta, extending a warm welcome to IDWeek attendees.

Planning your stay or looking for things to do while you’re in town? The Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau has created a custom IDWeek Atlanta Experience microsite. Explore top attractions, dining, transportation options, and more to make the most of your visit.

Transportation

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is one of the busiest—and most efficient—airports in the world. Luckily, it’s just about 20 minutes from downtown Atlanta and the convention center.

Here are a few easy options to get to your hotel:

  • MARTA Train: Atlanta’s public transit system offers a direct ride from the airport to downtown via the Red or Gold Line. It’s affordable, fast, and drops you near major hotels.
  • Rideshare & Taxis: Uber, Lyft, and taxis are readily available—just follow the ground transportation signs.
  • Shuttle Services: Some hotels offer complimentary or paid shuttle service. Check with your hotel in advance.
  • Rental Cars: The airport’s Rental Car Center is accessible via the free ATL SkyTrain.

Childcare

Childcare is available for registered IDWeek attendees from Oct. 18 – 22. Services will be provided by Tots on the Spot, and parents and guardians will directly coordinate Tots on the Spot.

Tots on the Spot will provide the following services

  • Toys for all ages.
  • Games of all kinds and age levels (Candyland, Chutes and Ladders, Uno, Old Maid, Bingo, Jumpin Monkeys and many more).
  • Age-appropriate movies, no more than one per day per room.

The deadline to sign up for childcare is Oct. 4.
