Policies

In order to provide a professional atmosphere in which diverse participants may learn, network, and participate in an environment of mutual respect, IDWeek is committed to providing a safe and productive environment free of discrimination, hostility, harassment, and retaliation based on race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, marital status, citizenship, or any other characteristic protected by law. IDWeek has a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination, harassment, and retaliation and is committed to enforcing this policy at all IDWeek activities or events.

Prohibited conduct includes:

  • Discrimination, harassment, or retaliation of any kind
  • Harassment or intimidation based on any of the protected characteristics enumerated above or protected by law.
  • Sexual harassment or intimidation, including unwelcome sexual attention, stalking, or unsolicited physical contact.
  • Harassment, intimidation, or coercion based upon a position as a board member, committee member or any position of influence.
  • Abusive, lewd, or threatening conduct.
  • Bullying, harassment or unprofessional conduct toward conference participants, staff clients or any affiliate of IDWeek
  • Physical violence or threats of violence.
  • Sexually charged communications or conduct.


Participants are asked to observe these additional rules:

  • The unauthorized recording or transmission of any event session, presentation, demo, video, or content in any format is not allowed
  • Do not engage in disruptive behavior in presentations during any conference sessions, or at networking and social events organized by IDWeek throughout the conference. All participants must comply with the instructions of the moderator or IDWeek staff/security.
  • Presentations, postings, and messages should not contain unauthorized promotional materials, special offers, job offers, product announcements, or solicitations for services. IDWeek reserves the right to remove such messages and potentially ban sources of those solicitations
  • Participants should not copy or take screen shots of Q&A or any chat room activity that takes place in the meeting app

Week encourages reporting of all perceived incidents of unacceptable behavior, regardless of the offender’s identity or position. Individuals who believe they have been the victim of or a witness to such conduct should report the incent to IDWeek staff at 703-740-4691 or to IDWeek staff on premises.  If the complaint involves IDWeek’s CEO or Board of Directors, the complaint should be reported to the VP of Organizational Development at 703-740-4960.  All involved parties should keep concerns confidential and only disclose information on a need-to-know basis. If it is determined that an individual has engaged in prohibited conduct, IDWeek shall determine the appropriate action to be taken, which may include, but is not limited to:

  • Private reprimand
  • Expulsion from the IDWeek activity or event without warning or refund
  • Implementation of conditions upon attendance at future IDWeek activities and events
  • Removal of the individual as a board or committee member
  • Restriction from attendance at future IDWeek activities and events
