Registration Rates
Registrants in the Member, Nonmember, Member Trainee, and Nonmember Trainee categories are eligible for a $50 discount on IDWeek 2026 registration when they book within the official hotel block. The discount will be automatically applied and displayed on the review and checkout page after a room reservation is completed through the registration and housing website. In-Person and virtual rates are the same.

Resources to Support Your Travel and Visit
IDWeek is registered with the International Visitors Office. International attendees should begin the visa process as early as possible — ideally three to four months before the meeting — as some U.S. consulates may have interview backlogs.
To determine which visa you need, use the Visa Wizard on the U.S. Department of State website. Travelers eligible for the Visa Waiver Program may not need a visa but must obtain a valid Electronic System for Travel Authorization. See the Visa Waiver Program page for details.
- Check Official Travel Guidance: Review advisories from your country of citizenship or residence and other trusted sources.
- Seek Legal Advice if Needed: For specific concerns about your visa, immigration status or border rights, consult an immigration attorney familiar with U.S. entry procedures.
- Know Border Screening Practices: CBP officers may ask about your trip. Make sure your visa and documents match your travel purpose.
- Be Mindful of Digital Content: Officers may review publicly available information, including social media, to confirm travel intent.
- Travel Smart with Devices: Although device inspections are uncommon, bring only essential electronics and limit sensitive data.

Created specifically for medical students and residents, the IDBugCrawl program is the place to learn about ID and meet directly with specialists in the field who are shaping the future of science, medicine and public health. Immerse yourself in one of the most exciting fields with VIP talks, social receptions, career development resources and networking exposure with experts from across the ID spectrum. Make connections you won’t find anywhere else and leave feeling energized and inspired. This VIP experience is free for students and residents attending IDWeek.
The NextGen ID Lounge is a space dedicated to medical students, residents and fellows. Come meet and network with peers over coffee or grab friends to enjoy downtime between IDWeek symposia.
The NextGen ID Lounge also features MedTalks, a unique opportunity for you to interact with experts in the field of ID. These sessions help early-career individuals learn more about career paths and development in ID.
Home to the IDBugCrawl, the NextGen ID Lounge will be open during IDWeek to medical students, residents and fellows only.
Premeeting Workshops
Oct. 20 | 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. ET
This workshop is designed for infectious diseases physicians preparing for the board exam or seeking a general update and review. Topics that will be addressed include: parasitic infections, vaccines, HIV, rickettsial diseases, STIs, infection control and prevention, and transplant infections. The participants will have an opportunity to utilize an audience response system to answer case-based microbiologic and clinical ID questions.
Oct. 20 | 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. ET
This course is a comprehensive and annually updated curriculum for those new to, old to or interested in learning more about antimicrobial stewardship. Topics include methods, controversies, advancements and implementation. Adult and pediatric stewardship topics relevant to a variety of health care settings will be presented.
Oct. 21 | 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. ET
This workshop dives into diagnostic stewardship — mapping the diagnostic pathway, pinpointing high-impact intervention points and sharing practical strategies to improve diagnosis. You’ll get up to speed on next-generation tools shaping the field, from emerging biomarkers to advanced diagnostics and modern multiplex testing. Through a lively biomarkers pro/con debate, a “behind-the-scenes” lab session and an expert panel on cutting-edge topics (fungal stewardship, Karius testing and multiplex panel testing), we’ll spotlight what’s new, what’s controversial and what’s ready for implementation. A Q&A session will allow you to ask the experts your burning diagnostic stewardship questions! Finally, we’ll close with a forward-looking session on AI & diagnostic stewardship. Attendees will leave with a clear playbook for building a multidisciplinary program that engages every health care worker involved in, and impacted by, the diagnostic process.

This workshop is designed for infectious diseases fellows. The two topics are:
- Infectious Diseases Cases: This popular interactive session features cases presented by fellows with discussion by the fellows and a faculty panel.
- Careers in Infectious Diseases: Interactive small group sessions devoted to exploring different ID careers. Each session will be led by a person who has made his or her career in a different area of infectious diseases.

This workshop is designed for pediatric fellows and academicians who wish to understand issues related to the effective transitioning from fellowship to faculty positions, explore various career paths in pediatric infectious diseases, and identify common and uncommon infections in children.

Recent advances in TB prevention, diagnostics and treatment will be the focus of this year’s workshop. The workshop will include a panel discussion on challenging TB cases and implementation of new and shorter TB drug regimens.

A four-hour session devoted to foundational and progressive clinical topics relevant to APPs entering and currently practicing in the ID workforce.

This workshop is an introduction to wound care for the infectious diseases clinician. We will discuss the diagnosis, workup and management of typical wounds encountered in practice, including diabetic foot ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, decubiti and a special section on unusual wounds such as pyoderma gangrenosum and calciphylaxis. The participant will have a chance to “put it all together” with our interactive cases. We will also answer questions about how to incorporate wound care into your practice. Towards the end, we will have hands-on demonstrations of off-loading devices, compression devices, dressings, simulated wound debridement and negative pressure wound therapy.

Artificial intelligence is creating new possibilities across clinical medicine, and the infectious diseases community is uniquely positioned to engage with it thoughtfully. This workshop covers the foundations of generative AI and prompt engineering, a critical examination of data security, privacy, limitations and the emerging world of autonomous AI agents — with real-world demonstrations of AI tools built for infectious diseases woven throughout. The session is designed to be interactive, with audience polling, live demonstrations and guided discussion.
